WHY DO YOU HAVE ALL THESE MEASUREMENTS; I’M CONFUSED?
The measurements and the politics outlined below are an attempt to be inclusive to queers of all body types and (dis)abilities. HEY GIRL HEY actively support a range of radical queer disability politics and fat positive spaces.
THE PARTY:
The party is $10 and doors at 9pm. This charge is so we can pay our artists, dj’s, out of town talent, dancers, and photographers a living and sustainable wage for their art. If you are unable to pay the $10 cover- please contact an event organizer to discuss options of trade.
The parties capacity is 600 people. We suggest coming early to avoid being turned away due to capacity.
POLITICS OF THE SPACE
This is a queer and queer-admirers party. We are anti-racist, body-positive, sex positive, queer-as fuck freaky radicals who strive to create an environment of respect, celebration, and fun in our parties.
Therefore, disrespectful, belligerent, heterosexist, misogynist, transphobic, abelist, fat phobic, racist, and/or violent behavior is not welcome and those who exhibit it will be asked to leave immediately.
In all areas of your life- practice good consent boundaries. This definitely applies to our dancers who must be asked before touching. Please admire them with kind words, dolla bills, and appreciating the authenticity they are adding to the space for Pride. Those that violate consent boundaries with our performers- especially our dancers will be asked to leave immediately.
GETTING THERE:
Plan B Bar is located at 1305 SE 8th Ave Portland, OR 97214. The entrance will be through the loading gate into the back patio on Taylor. The Bar is accessible on the 14, 15, 6, 4, and 70 bus-lines. There is ample street parking and moderate paved street lighting.
ENTRANCE:
Entrance will be on Main Street about 10 feet west of 8th Ave. The entrance is 7’5” on a slight paved incline. The staff and event promoters are aware that often peoples gendered ID does not match a patrons perceived gender. If you are concerned about issues surrounding your ID- we encourage you to contact the staff at Plan B prior to the event to make arrangements.
OUTDOOR AREA:
The area itself is gigantic. There are 12 study wood park benches. 4 of the benches have the seats attached where in the other 8 do not. The entire outdoor area is paved but not flat ground.
The ramp from the outside to inside is wheelchair accessible and opens to 2 doors. One right in front of the door- the ramp is 3” on a paved incline.
The doors that open are one without an ADA handles where in it is 2’8” wide and 7” tall. The other French doors that will be open are 6X10 feet of space.
INSIDE AREA:
From Bar to stage is a low glare linoleum higher slip flooring Against the north side of the space are 3 leather study booths. There will be amplified music, lights, and loud performances. The bar area is 3’8” from the ground and is faced with 6 bar stools.
Towards the east end of the inside space is a hallway to the south. The hallway is 2’8”and is 3 feet long. Promptly, it will T into 2 exact 90 degree angles. On the left side will be Bathroom 1 and the other will be bathroom 2. Both restrooms will be non-gendered. Please respect that in regards to a potential line forming outside of said restrooms.
BATHROOM NUMBER ONE:
Entrance is 2’8”. There are 2 stalls wherein the entrance is 2’8”, no bars, and the toilet is 1’9” off of the ground. The sink is 3” high and there is soap that has potential scent allergens.
BATHROOM NUMBER 2:
Entrance is 2’8”. There are 1 stall(s) and 2 urinals wherein the entrance is 2’8”, no bars, and the toilet is 1’9” off of the ground. The sink is 3” high and there is soap that has potential scent allergens.
